In 2018, Romania celebrated 100 years since the birth of its modern state. On this occasion, the Hategan Foundation established the Romania 100 Scholarship Fund, with initial funding provided by Adecco. The programme was created to offer financial support to talented young individuals who aspire to pursue higher education but face limitations due to modest financial resources.

The initiative focuses on identifying remarkable young people and rewarding their achievements, while encouraging them to follow their passion in a chosen field. It aims to contribute to the development of a new generation of leaders across a wide range of domains, including academics, sports, arts, technology, and engineering. Eligibility is based on demonstrated achievement, which the Foundation defines as a combination of deep understanding of a field, proven performance, long-term commitment, passion, initiative, and a strong desire for continuous development.

Building on this foundation, in 2019, the Hategan Foundation launched a scholarship programme dedicated to students from Timișoara, in partnership with WINGS TRUST from Switzerland. In its first year, three scholarships were awarded: two to students in Medicine and one to a student in Communication and Translation. In 2020, the Foundation continued to support these three fellows, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing academic excellence and supporting young talents on their educational journey.

Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.
