The “Volunteers for Strong Communities” Project is an educational initiative developed by the Hategan Foundation, together with the Plai Cultural Foundation and the Flight Foundation, aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who are eager to actively contribute to the development of the Timișoara community.

The project includes weekly mentorship sessions and volunteering opportunities within local events and community projects. At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate attesting to the skills acquired and a level of training recognized by the partner organizations, providing them with an advantage for future opportunities.

Participants will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges of volunteering and to contribute to initiatives that are important for the local community. The program involves 9 local NGOs that organize some of the most relevant events in Timișoara, offering participants access to diverse experiences and practical insight into how community projects are developed and implemented.

Through this exposure, young people will discover different roles and forms of involvement while developing a broad range of skills related to volunteering and teamwork.

The mentorship sessions will take place weekly between April and June, while participants will also be directly involved in activities and events organized in Timișoara.

The program offers:

  • development of leadership and teamwork skills
  • hands-on volunteering experience within major local events
  • opportunities to build connections with organizers and professionals in the field
  • a volunteer certificate recognizing the competencies acquired
